Crank open the ‘Tap this week for the Doom3-a-licioius Alpha Prime, the Bust-a-Bejeweled-Move-a-licious Chameleon Gems, and the letter-flippin-tastic Flip Words 2.

But, wait … there’s more! Be sure to check out the new GameTap Indies page, along with TheRedEye’s comprehensive GameTap Indies Discussion Thread which is chock full of factoids about the games and their developers (and don’t forget to subscribe to his GameTap Indies playlist!). We’re even offering up one of our indie games for free this week: Morning’s Wrath.

Yes, we have some new games this week. And yes, I cracked open the RIP Trilogy for some quick, instant gratification shooter action. But then yesterday’s WTF Wednesday happened. ROM Raiders. Now I’m back in Pyramid Magic land for the first time in over a year. End of level jumping jacks! End of level jumping jacks!

(p.s. Anyone else have the urge to Barry Manilow up Culpa Innata? “Adventure and action were always the fashion…”)

GameTap celebrates Earth Day this week (well, not really) with the release of Great Journey: Mr. Penguin’s Letter™ in which you’re tasked to stop a no-good-nick polluter from trashing Antarctica. If that’s too politically correct for you, there’s Dark Star One, where your starship is … ALIVE!!!

I can’t lie, Giovanni was onto something last week when he speculated that things were busy here at the office. He’s right. Keep in mind that the lead time on most things the IAs work on is typically pretty huge. But we’re on some cool stuff right now. Unfortunately there’s way too much work to do much more than attempt to participate in the rolling avalanche that is the Monday Leaderboard Tournament (Root Beer Tapper’s up next!).

If only our whiteboards had… wait a second…

Technically, TheRedEye used his own whiteboard to sketch out the Captain McGrandpa design doc. See the massive world-map and more in his excellent, behind-the-scenes postmortem.
