Hey, about next week. In the monthly mailer there was talk of a Racing Week for the 11th. I guess that was pushed back another week?
Hopefully there’s a couple of surprises for the wait (secretly wishing for Vigilante 8: Second Offense for Dreamcast, even though it’s partially redundant with Interstate 76 out the same week). Even if there’s not I-76 and TOCA 3 are great enough alone.

Nice update, the Sam & Max episodes were hilarious. I would really like to see more Dreamcast games as well as more multiplayer games. Also could xamount or dinah adress why multiplayer is often really laggy to the point of being unplayable? I know it must be hard working on the emulators to cooperate, but its just something thats a real hinderance for me and my friends. Keep up the good work and keep bringing the goods.

Whoa, Deus Ex Invisible War stealth release? This is pretty awesome.

batzradio: Racing Week got pushed back a bit. Looks like it’s still scheduled for this month, but it might not be until the end. The lead time on those monthly preview things is such that things potentially slip and slide around a bit before the games are actually made available. One thing seems to be pretty solid: if a game title is publicized (whether via the email previews or other bizarro means — like ToeJam & Earl), it will be playable soon. Which leads me to:
duffey: Yep, that Deus Ex sequel sneaked in there same as ToeJam & Earl. Wasn’t in there in the AM — ended up there later in the day. Still not showing up on the website, but that just means I can’t link to it yet in the updated post above…
Manuel: Multiplayer performance is subject to a number of factors: players’ connection speed, cpu, etc. What game(s) are you having issues with? Can you describe the lag that you you and your friends are seeing? (i.e. is it consistently reproducible? have you noticed any factors that make it better or worse?)

Its usually in most fighting games such as the Street Fighter series. Sound becomes choppy and gameplay is slow with stuttering and drop in framerates. I’ve noticed that the lag is less noticeable when there are not as many individuals online playing (server load?). Its a common complaint in the player lobby in Street Fighter Alpha 3 and most of the other fighting games (ex. Final Fight) that share the same problem. System configuration is not an issue for me, nor is latency. Not sure exactly what the problem is, but it seems that generally everyone I have played with thus far is having issues.

Love the blog, any chance we could get an RSS feed?

Thanks for reminding me that the RSS feed is a little too hidden way down in the footer. I’ll move it up to the sidebar shortly. Here’s the feed address: http://angledwhiteboards.com/feed/

I’ve noticed a good bit of confusion forming out there on when Uru Live is launching.. its on the coming soon list for next week but Cyan says that’s not happening. Any info on when it’s REALLY due for launch?
January 8th, 2007 at 10:32 am
macnbc: As far as Myst Online’s non-beta-ness goes: the title is officially launching in early 2007 but is NOT launching next week. More solid info to come, obviously. If you see any contradictory, seemingly official info floating around out there, we’d love to see it (and get a chance to correct it!).
One thing to keep in mind about the Coming Soon subring in GameTap Picks — and I think you and others have sussed this out — it’s not always representative of titles that are in the hopper for the next week.
Manuel: Not ignoring your follow-up… Still digging around on the multiplayer issue.
