New this week.
February 15th, 2007 by xamountSo the big deal this week is the de-beta-ing of Myst Online: Uru Live. This game has come a long way since its December beta launch. It’s going to be exciting to see where it goes as new content is added.
I’d never played The Super Spy before, but you really need to experience the transition from punching to shooting. My first game out I didn’t switch weapons (from fists to knife to gun) for a good while. When I finally accidentaly switched to the gun and shot a ninja it felt pretty much exactly like that scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark where Indy shrugs and shoots the sword dude. Ridiculously satisfying.
Finally, Groove Champion Interstate ‘76 is out this week! It’s gonna be nice to play that one, huh?

I was trying to explain Super Spy to a friend and fellow SNK fanboy who’d never heard of it. I said it was like Crossed Swords, but with an espionage feel, and he kind of got the idea. Later I hit on a better description: Super Spy is what would happen if Punch-Out!! and Rolling Thunder had a baby.

Man, I played through Interstate 76 for the first time in a decade yesterday thanks to you guys and it was still every bit as awesome as the first time I played it. Y’all did a pretty dang good job bringing that one to GameTap and it’s nice to see that a lot more people will be able to get exposed to it. Double bonus awesomeness that the Nitro Pack is coming to GameTap.
Have I ever told you that I love you? Because I do.
Chipping away at trying to learn how to play Heroes of Might and Magic right now. Never really bothered with it back when it came out (despite the massive amounts of good word of mouth it received)
Learning curve is pretty dang steep, though

Wow, Roushi.
As a longtime Shacknews lurker, I must say I direly miss your posts about games, especially the great unknowns.

Zach: That description nails it. Nice work.
