And the dock icon is gorgeous too.
June 19th, 2007 by xamountRemember a month or so ago when I talked about doing “something in beta that was so cool, so currently impossible, and so not announced yet”? That something was sitting in front of my Mac Pro at home, navigating to Joust on the website, firing up the Lite Player, and playing a number of multiplayer Challenge! games against an unwitting public.
Consider the Mac version officially announced (and dated!). I’m all set to crush (and be crushed by) some Mac folks starting June 28th.

Is there any plan to allow Mac users to play any or all of Gametap’s Windows library through further implementation of Cider? Is it possible that new Windows games will come with Mac/Cider support?

Neat. Will we see an official GT Lite for Unix as well? That would put GT way out in the lead for cross-platform gaming distribution.

Wow, awesome news! Being able to play at least some GameTap games without rebooting my Macbook Pro will be great. Really looking forward to the 28th now.

Unfortunately, we can’t say much about the future (Windows games, Unix support) beyond what’s been published.
We will try to get some screenshots of it in action up in the next day or so, though. Should whet the appetite a bit more for the 28th.

I’m so stoked for this. I’ll be sure to give it a go and a blog the day it drops. Most likely during my layover at LAX that night.. so hopefully it all goes well
