Sometimes fun is enough.

I played the 360 demo of DiRT a month or so ago (and had a blast), but knowing that it’ll be available in the GameTap vault soon got me digging around some more.

Gamewise, grit and grime never looked so beautiful — but then I stumbled on THIS. Man, those are some slick menus. Hard to tell whether they improve (or hinder) usability, but it sure is hard to care on first glance.

Pretty cool menus, although I wasn’t too big on the demo. Since it’s coming to Gametap, though, I may try it out again.

Looks like a great game! Hopefully it’ll be as fun to play as it is to look at. I can’t wait to see it on GameTap.

The menus might loose a little bit of usability, but I’ll have to see it full-screen to be sure. It’s probably tougher to scan real fast if you have a particular map in mind, but that could be solved by providing a textual listing to choose from. And once you know where your favorite map is, you’ll remember where it is. Even without the textual list, the coolness makes up for the few seconds it takes to dig to find the map you want.
