Read
August 7th, 2007 by dinahSome of you might have noticed that there’s a new button in the GameTap header. Have you seen it? Clicked it? Read it?
Well, we like love games. And we love to talk about games and the industry and what’s what and who’s who and, well, you get the picture. So, if you love games too - all games - make sure you visit the new Read section at GameTap. Our editorial team is top drawer and on top of the action. With new stories daily!
(We also changed “Buy” to “Shop”, but that’s a story for another day)

The Read section is awesome. Just what GameTap needed! I also like the change to Shop. Buy was too confusing for a lot of people, as it sounded like that is where you sign-up for GameTap.

I also have to say that I never knew about GameTap Daily in the Watch section of the website. I’ll be checking that out from now on!

thats a story id love to hear, i think… i imagine it goes something very much like the stories i hear from our web guy at the office.
they almost always start with “omfg do you know what they just made me do??” and end with “jesus what a bunch of f’in morons!”

Read is a cool feature, although I doubt I’ll use it much. I just generally use IGN for my gaming news/reviews.

Change from “Buy” to “Shop” sounds like a good one. Friendlier and more accurate. Have any tales of epic food fights and other battles about the name change?
As far as reading goes, I prefer my news in video (GameTap TV) or audio (GameSpot’s HotSpot podcast) format.

I like text news. Any chance of an RSS feed for the read section? I already subscribe to Joystiq’s RSS feed, so another wouldn’t hurt.

Wait, holy crap, you guys have Theirry “Scooter” Nguyen writing for you? SWEET.

^^ RSS is most definitely on our to-do list!

Sweet. This kind of stuff is why I laugh to myself when people say GameTap doesn’t care about the customer.

And another nifty addition suggested during the March focus group. Essalent essalent.
