New this week.

I have to admit, I kinda like this trend of games forcing you through a monitor brightness adjustment just to make sure you’re all set for the right level of scary darkness. BioShock pulls the same trick. The question is: do you cheat the system? Do you adjust so that you can more than “just barely make out the image”? Or are you so hardcore you make it darker than it’s supposed to be? Personally, I spend way too much time agonizing like I’m at the eye doctor trying to get it just right. This one, or this one? This one? Or this one?

My eyes are bad enough that when they start using that 0.25 diopter widget and asking me, “Which is better… one… or two? One…. or two?” I never can tell the difference.

Clockwork Knight and Penumbra should be fun.

I’ve noticed a couple of interesting trends the past few weeks:
a) only 3-4 games per week instead of 4-6
b) few, if any, games for retro consoles
Why not toss in an Atari or C64 game each week to keep the numbers up and appease the retro gamers?

I’ve been waiting to play Penumbra since the tech demo first came out, w00t. I was still on my desktop with a 9600 Pro back then, can’t wait to see it on an X1600. Clockwork Knight looks pretty fun too. What I really cant wait for, though, is Typing of the Dead next week.

A question: Why is the Rob Zombie Quick Hit listed as new when it was also new last week?
Also, kinda disappointing to see the Gametap TV content going down. I mean, the only really new content this week is the Gametap News (I’ve seen the trailer already in rotation).
