New this week.
October 11th, 2007 by xamountLagoon. Bassoon. Cocoon. Monsoon. Harpoon. And my personal favorite: pantaloon! Not only do I like to wear pantaloons, I like to type pantaloon to re-murder zombies. That’s right, The Typing of the Dead is here. And it is fun, funny, stressful stuff. Get to typing, Mavis!
(Oh, and here’s a helpful tip for when you finally decide you need sleep or food: Alt-F4 is the only way to quit the game. I tried typing “QUIT”, “Leave me alone”, “I’m done with the zombies and the typing already” and others before stumbling upon the super-intuitive Alt-F4 combo.)

Yessss… I’ve been waiting for Typing of the Dead. Too cheap to track down the game and a keyboard for the Dreamcast version. Downloading immediately.

The less than sign cuts off the reply apparently. I love Typing of the Dead is what I said, but love was a heart with the less than sign and a 3.

Wing Commander II. Fantastic. One of the best games ever. Good story. Who is the traitor?

*I* am the traitor. I also shot Abraham Lincoln.
In all seriousness, WC2 was the first game that made me realize a PC was a viable game platform when I was 14–I’d never seen a computer more modern than an Apple IIe or C64 used for gaming at that point, and I thought it was all Roguelikes and such. The opening with the Kilrathi ruler just blew my mind–it was the greatest thing since Dragon’s Lair. Of course, sixteen years later it’s obvious that all that moved was the mouth. But still, it blew my mind and redefined how I thought of games. And then of course the game that followed was even more awesome.
