Fare thee well.
December 19th, 2007 by dinahI’ve been with GameTap since it was little more than a glimmer in its inventor’s (Blake Lewin’s) eye. And man, has it been fun. Taking this idea of a jukebox of games and making it a reality has been the best project I’ve ever worked on. And not only was the project fun, the people were just as fun - inside these walls in Atlanta, and more importantly, all of you, our treasured readers. It has been delightful getting to know you.
But now, almost four years (yeah, I’ve been on it for that long!) later, it’s time for me to move on. I’m not going very far - in fact, I’m not even really looking for work. I’m taking a few month sabbatical to work on some personal projects and do a little traveling. Besides, I have way too many video games to get caught up on (one of these days I’ll get past that knitting lady in Psychonauts!). So look for me in the GameTap Player, I’ll still be dinah.
And hey, xamount and mixednut might even let me make a few guest posts here, who knows?
How bittersweet. Give me a minute, will ya? I gotta wipe this little tear from my eye.

Well over a year ago when I first signed up for GameTap, it was solely because they were picking up Sam and Max and Myst Online.
What kept me a member and later turned me into a walking GameTap advertisement were the people behind-the-scenes, and Dinah’s certainly at the top of list.
She’s been GameTap’s community coordinator when they hadn’t had one, and deserves a great deal of the credit for building the community that’s around today.
I’m going to miss seeing her around as often but I’m not going to say I’ll miss her that much because if she drops out of contact for too long then I’m gonna kick her butt, yet I think GameTap’s losing one of their best this week and things just aren’t going to feel the same around here.
Best of luck with all of your future projects Dinah, and have fun out there!

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
And by fish, I mean your work. Or something.

We will miss you!
Nothing else to say but that, really.
Good luck!

You know, being unemployed for about a month or so is just wonderful. I did it a while back and had a hell of a fun time catching up on all of my games while waiting to start my next job. Silly work always gets in the way of the important things in life… like travel, video games, and 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep on weekdays.
Enjoy your momentary break from the cubicle police and your awesomely relaxing month.

A toast to one of the cooler folks behind GT!
Good luck in everything in the future, and here’s hoping you continue to still show up every so often in megathread-land.

You will be missed… GT just wouldn’t be the same without all your work!
Good luck with any future projects, and have some great adventures on those travels.

I’m sorry to see you leave, Dinah! But life is short, and you gotta do what’s right for you. Just don’t be a stranger around the forums and the blog!
