New this week.

Would you kindly play some Tube-It? Helpful hacking tonics not included.

(And I’m looking forward to diving into the top-down actioner Shadowgrounds as well. But — as the last three weeks of nothing but “new this week” posts can attest — things are bizzzzy up in here right now.)

Another GameTap Indies game drops this week: Starscape. It’s Escape Velocity-ish if you happen to remember that game. (And after Simon Says-ing it up to gather mineral resource in Mass Effect, it’s nice to use a good ol’ tractor beam in Starscape.) Then we’ve got a board-game-based deal (Ingenious) and an RTS (Ancient Wars: Sparta).

Want to play a physics-based platformer? One that happens to be our latest GameTap Indies game? Gumboy Crazy Adventures! I’m always up for a good physics-y game. I’m also digging the stressless pace of D.N.A. Not to mention the Tim & Eric-like announcer guy. GROWTH. PESTAL PRESS.

Anyone got a copy?  I’d love to see the rest of this book…

I know a lot of folks are gonna be happy with the release of the second episode of this second Sam & Max season, but I’m pretty psyched about the return of a large chunk of our family catalog. X jr.’s gonna be right back in it with the return of the Freddi Fish series.

Physical graffiti.

Thought this Swedish street art was a super-nifty bit of vandalism.

Reminded me of one of the more odd, stand-out-y things at our recent holiday party (this year we teamed up with Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and Super Deluxe to get our festivities on). The party itself was amazingly fun and random: Spiderman (who I later got a prom picture with) and the Easter Bunny dancing together at one point, food ranging from sushi and a mashed-potato martinis to a table piled with Popeye’s fried chicken, rooms dedicated to poker and karaoke. But one of the very first things you came across after going down the faux red carpet flash photo experience was this fireplace setup with an older lady sitting in a rocking chair… knitting. Apparently she’d even teach you how if you stopped moving long enough to sit next to her. I never did sit down and give it a shot, but man what a gig for her.
