New this week.

Would you kindly play some Tube-It? Helpful hacking tonics not included.

(And I’m looking forward to diving into the top-down actioner Shadowgrounds as well. But — as the last three weeks of nothing but “new this week” posts can attest — things are bizzzzy up in here right now.)

Futoshiki turns out to be much easier than either Sudoku or Kakuro. I finished a 7×7 “expert” puzzle in ten minutes without really having to do any serious thought.

Of course, these versions of the puzzle games (all three of them) are a lot easier than doing them with P&P. These versions are overly helpful when it comes to tracking possible digits and such. Futoshiki kind of misses the mark, though, due to its clunky pencil-digits-using-a-popup-menu interface.

Of the three, Kakuro is still my favorite.

Busy, eh? Something big in the works? :D

I think that was sarcasm. I hope it wasn’t, but it probably was.

  4. Penquin Says:

I don’t think it is. Normally there’s all kind of random stuff posted(Notice that Completely Random is the 3rd biggest category after New This Week and Gaming), so they probably are working on something at least.

Ha! No, no, not sarcasm. Chalk it up to the new year or whatever, but we’ve got a lot of stuff bouncing around. (Plus, my team is down a pretty crucial component, if you’ll remember.)

Nice use of the categories though, Penquin. Just the other day I was wondering if those were useful. Sounds like they’re at least good for detective work.

  6. Penquin Says:

Actually, I just happened to look over while reading Giovanni’s post, no detective work on my part. :p

Shadowgrounds, eh? Gametap is giving me a fear of buying anything off of Steam - the games tend to wind up here eventually. Doesn’t Shadowgrounds even run on the Source engine?

    Still waiting on Railroads! though.

I’m really digging Shadowgrounds. It doesn’t have quite the same atmosphere of my all-time favorite game, System Shock 2, but it’s certainly in the same league as Penumbra: Overture. Thanks for picking it up!

  9. NinjaPirate Says:

Shadowgrounds actually surprised me. I was expecting an average game to “blah” my way through but it actually turned out to be quite fun (mediocre voice acting aside).

  10. Giovanni Says:

Tayrtahn: Probably not. The game download is 477MB, but the Source engine is at least 2GB.

Yo Xamount, I have a question for Rickzilla but the PM, Forums, etc. all dont work and your tech support told me I was out of luck (not even a free month offered :) ) Good times…

Here is my incident 12854905. Its cool if you cant help. Im not mad so thats not the point. I would just like to help beta test for Gametap (2 years working in networking, 1 year with doing support with Dell for their software/hardware, and now I work for Omniture doing there support)

Gotcha, westman_82. I’ll follow up with you over email…
