New this week

This week: doggies and rabbits and tanks, oh my!  Sam & Max Season 2 continues with Episode 4: Chariots of the Dogs, which I can only assume, since I haven’t played it, is a mashup of Chariots of Fire and Year of the Dog - a combination that should prove to be both spiritually uplifting as well as dramatically comedic. We’ve also got Iron Warriors, a tank sim from Strategy First - pretty much the antithesis of the former game.  Choose wisely!

I guess I’m just gonna go ahead and assume that Ep 4, like Eps 2 and 3, won’t work on Win2k. :(

Actually, though I don’t know this for sure, I’m assuming it’s a corruptoin fo “Chariots of the Gods”, a book from the ’70s (?) about how the Earth was seeded for life by extra-terrestrials sometime in our distant past. Or something…

I can’t put my finger on why exactly, but I’d have to say that this S&M episode is most favorite one yet.

I have some speculation as to why it is, but I don’t want to spoil anythin’. ;)

I hope everyone (and everything) at GameTap is okay after this mysterious storm came through. Let’s all stay home, stay inside, and play some video games together!

Thanks for the thoughts, Deg. I haven’t heard word of the Northyards/Gametap campus being hit — but it’s just down the street from CNN Center, so I’m sure there are at least some leaves on the ground. It’s weird how much I expect to be able to just Google Maps Satellite view the damage in real time. Seems like we’re getting close to the see-anything-from-anywhere-in-real-time future. I did check out some of the just-launched iReport.com videos to see if anyone was near the building.

Taking the kids to see They Might Be Giants this afternoon, so I’ll likely do a drive-by just to see if everything’s in one piece.

I love how completely random those look without the TMBG context. And I have a long-time joke thing with a friend who used to belt out “MystEEEEErious whispers.” At some point I kinda went off on him for pluralizing “whisper” — and he hasn’t let me forget the ridiculous pettiness of my correction.

Oh, and GameTap HQ was spared. Thanks, again!

    There’s only one everything, xamount.
